Food Tech / SMaP Project Management Workshops, Friday January 8th
Wrap-up
Collaboration. Spontaneous does not mean messy, remember you moving tables and chairs along the walls. Requirements does not mean they are comprehensive, remember the backpacks you dealt with--not part of the requirements, but part of the job.
Initiative versus project.
Estimates. Prefer being accurate than precise. Best estimates are made from debriefed experience.
Initiative description, step 1. Self explanatory.
Initiative description, step 2. Try to find out both problems and opportunities.
Initiative description, step 3. Objectives at stake are those of the Business Unit launching the initiative/project, make sure you capture those objectives (which are not necessarily the ones in grey). Then you measure the initiative/project contribution to the Business Unit objectives.
Initiative description, step 4. Beware: you unveil an actor as a sponsor because of their power/authority AND their resources AND their personal interest in the success of the initiative. The 4 other questions are about assessing actors' willingness.
Organization
Mixed Food Tech + SMaP teams ; one Food Tech team playing the consultants ; one responsible student for Food Tech and SMaP as Single Points Of Contact with me.
