Project 2. How do we produce what we are producing (how good, fast and cheap)?

Some consider quality as a parameter for Good. I don’t think so. The grade is a parameter of Good, whereas quality is a requirement of Good. The grade is the expected level of performance, quality is conformity to the expectations of the product or service. The grade is negotiable (a luxury car? it's cheap counterpart?), the quality should not. Now that I ride my bicycle on my business travel less than 10 miles from home, the grade of my bicycle is lower than the Moto Guzzi California of my dreams, however I have immediately opted for puncture-proof tires: whatever grade one choose, one shouldn’t risk a bad surprise.

Assumption. Between Good , fast and cheap, the sponsor must choose.

You could make good and fast, or fast and cheap, or cheap and dale (ha ha!) oops, cheap and good. Not all three at once, you know. Who is to choose? The sponsor. They have to mediate between the three parameters. As they wants to choose solutions at the very moment they are aware of a problem, let’s clarify with them what they pick (good, fast or cheap) before any problem arises. If they want good, fast and cheap, they certainly want something more badly than anything they want badly.

Good for is « just necessary », which adds value to the customer and for which they are willing to pay a certain amount, a certain value.

For cheap, it's still the « just necessary » at the right time at the right price. I have no further comment on my own.
